Make a Difference for Wildlife this Halloween!
October 12, 2011
A message from Tarah Jacobs, Conservation Education Specialist at the Teaching Zoo:
Palm oil is a vegetable oil that is found in the fruit of the African oil palm tree, and is used in most of foods we eat, including candy! When you purchase candy for this year's Boo at the Zoo, one simple way you can help wildlife is by supporting the companies or products that use sustainable palm oil, for example:
- Nestlé – Baby Ruth, Butterfinger, Crunch Bar
- Wonka – Sweetarts, Laffy Taffy, Nerds, Pixy Stix
- Kellogg's – Rice Krispie Treats
For more information visit this sustainable palm oil shopping guide.
Please post this flyer (PDF) to help us get the word out!
Thanks for making a difference!
