A Message from SF's President: Stamp Out Hunger

October 7, 2011

Santa Fe Family:

Each of us knows a friend or family member who is suffering because of current financial conditions. Some continue to lose jobs, making it a struggle for them to pay their bills and buy basic necessities. The need is so great that local food pantries are often bare. Because serving the community is at the heart of what we do, I would like to invite the Santa Fe family to increase our efforts to meet our community's needs. One way we can do this is by all contributing cans of food to Alachua County's Strike Out Hunger Food Drive, which is going on now through the end of October.

I am asking each student and employee to join Layne and me in donating just one pound of nonperishable food. By doing so, we will be able to collect 19,000 pounds of food for families who are facing hard times.

One of my greatest sources of pride at Santa Fe is the enthusiasm with which you embrace opportunities to help others. Please bring your cans of food to one of the convenient drop-off locations listed below by the end of the month so they can be distributed to local food pantries.

Thank you.
