What to Do in the Case of Student-to-Student Sexual Harassment
September 30, 2011
A message from Lela Frye, Director, Human Resources:
At Tuesday's college Senate meeting concerns regarding sexual harassment by students to other students were brought forward and prompted many questions regarding the college rule and faculty responsibility. Therefore we are providing the following links to the college rule on Prohibiting Harassment and Discrimination and the procedure for reporting possible harassment or discrimination.
- Title: Policy Prohibiting Discrimination and Harassment, Rule 2.8
- Title: Prohibition Against Discrimination and Harassment, Procedure 2.8P
It is important that every faculty and staff member of the college recognize their responsibility to report possible harassment and/or discrimination in accordance with college rule. Complaints can be made to any academic Chair/Director, Director of Human Resources and EAEO Coordinator, or the Vice President of Student Affairs.
Please read back through these policies to familiarize yourself with the examples of harassment, your responsibility and obligation for reporting, and the proper channels for reporting these types of activities.
