"Any Noun Can Be Verbed," Sept. 9-Oct. 27
September 1, 2011
Beginning Sept. 9, and running through Oct. 27, the Santa Fe Art Gallery will host "Any Noun Can Be Verbed," an exhibit of creative and innovative new work by Art Professor Judy Rushin.
Rushin's work has appeared in venues across the U.S. and in Korea, and has been featured twice in New American Paintings. She currently lives in Tallahassee, where she teaches in the Art Department at Florida State University.
"Any Noun Can Be Verbed" is a project that blurs the boundaries between architecture, sculpture, and painting.
"Just as language inelegantly morphs and adapts when necessary, so does art. And my work is happily and awkwardly adrift," Rushin writes. "I am a drifter, ambling between painting, drawing, sculpture and installation."
An opening mixer for the exhibition will be held 7-9 p.m., Friday in the Santa Fe Gallery. There will be food provided by Blue Water Bay, and live entertainment.
The Santa Fe Art Gallery is located on the Northwest Campus, building M, room 147. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m., except college holidays. All exhibits and receptions are free and open to the public.
