Citizen Input Needed on the Alachua County Budget

July 26, 2011

Alachua County's annual interactive exercise in budget building began this week. The point is to get citizen input on local priorities and how to pay for them. At each Community Conversation event, county staff give a presentation on budget issues. Then, residents participate in a 'table-top" exercise to discuss and try to agree upon budgeting priorities. After that, an electronic survey will be conducted to gather individual input from participants.

Upcoming Community Conversations:

  • Thursday, July 28, 6-8:30 p.m., SF Center for Innovation & Economic Development (CIED), 530 W. University Ave.
  • Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m. to noon, Tower Road Branch Library, 3020 SW 75th St.
