3rd Annual Larry G. Shahboz Summer Swing Dance, July 23
July 11, 2011
Hey all you dolls and hep cats! It's time for the 3rd Annual Larry G. Shahboz Summer Dance to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
This year's dance will be a blast filled with great music, dancing demonstrations, and amazing door prizes:
- Bento Café gift cards
- Hair cut from Salon LaDiDa
- Massage from Salina Briseno
- Six-month membership at Alter Ego Fitness
- And more!
Blood cancers are the second most fatal form of cancer, second only to lung cancer. Someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer every five minutes. Every ten minutes, another child or adult loses the fight. This dance serves as a way to honor those we love who have been affected by leukemia, lymphoma and myelomas and raise awareness and funds for research, new treatments and cures. Profits will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which not only supports research but also provides critical education, services and support to patients and families battling these cancers.
The dance is 8-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 at the Thelma Boltin Center, 516 NE Second Ave. in Gainesville.
Last year, the dance had 120 people attend with a total of nearly $2,000 in donations. Donate online at the LLS website.
You can also buy your tickets at the door. Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for students.
