SF Student Awarded a Prestigious Gilman Scholarship
June 2, 2011
SF student Janet Chandler has won a Gilman Scholarship for Fall 2011! This is a highly prestigious award that is sponsored by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs at the Department of State. The money awarded is intended for a study abroad experience. Chandler will be using the award to study in the program "Ceramics in China" in the fall. She was awarded $4,500.
"This is a major achievement for Janet and demonstrates to Santa Fe students that they can get funding for longer, more expensive study abroad trips," writes Allison Nyamuame, Coordinator, International Education.
Chandler is the second student from Santa Fe to win this award. The first was Danielle Rossi in 2009.
