TOMOSSONE NAMED NJCCA NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NJCAA Softball Player of the Week Gia Tomossone, Santa Fe Sophomore – Tampa, Fla.
The Lady Saints found help in Gia Tomossone, Santa Fe's 5'9" third baseman, this past week as she lifted the team to a 4-2 record. The team split games with No. 16 Florida State College – Jacksonville and picked up a trio of other wins against Daytona State and Central Florida.
Tomossone batted 8-of-20 (.400 average) over six games, tallying eight runs, two doubles, four homers, and eight RBI's. The sophomore broke Santa Fe's all-time school record in career home runs with 22 against Central Florida as well! The record was previously held by former NJCAA All-American Sherquita Bostick with 21.
