"University Student Launch" Initiative Seeks Faculty Advisor
April 14, 2011
A group of students is looking for a member of the faculty to serve as an advisor for the University Student Launch Initiative, a national rocket competition sponsored by NASA where students to design, build and launch a reusable rocket with a scientific or engineering payload to one mile above ground level, or AGL. The project engages students in scientific research and real-world engineering processes with NASA engineers, and may involve a grant of up to $5,000.
The students are looking for a faculty member who would be responsible for the project, help oversee design, and provide valuable input on the project. Rocket launch certification is a plus (NAR or TAR). If interested, please contact LaNiece O'Steen (352-286-0535 or laniece.osteen@yahoo.com)
