CLYBURN INKS WITH AUSTIN PEAY, MIKULIC WITH HIGH POINT
Gainesville, FL – Two Santa Fe Saints basketball players signed their national letters of intent on Wednesday morning, with more expected to follow in the coming days.
Point guard Jerome Clyburn (pictured left) inked his LOI with Austin Peay State University, an NCAA Division I school in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Governors finished last season 20-14 overall and 13-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference. They made it to the semifinals of the OVC Tournament before getting knocked off by eventual champion and NCAA Tournament team Morehead State.
As a sophomore at Santa Fe, Clyburn led the team in scoring with 12 points and assist at 4.1 per game. He was also very efficient from the field, shooting a team high 53.1%. At the conclusion of the season he was named to the All Mid-Florida Conference First Team.
Branimir Mikulic (pictured right), a 6-9 forward from Herzegovina has signed his letter of intent with High Point University, a NCAA Division I school in High Point, NC. The Panthers finished 2010-11 with a 12-19 overall record and were 7-11 in the Big South Conference.
In his sophomore season Mikulic scored 8.1 points per game, shot 89% from the free throw line and was second on the team in made three pointers with 52. He was named All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team for his efforts.
