O'SHEA, TURNER LEAD SAINTS TO 9-0 VICTORY OVER ST. JOHN'S

Palatka, FL – Ben O'Shea tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out 14 Santa Fe on Friday night against St. John's River State College (20-18, 8-5 MFC) and Jordan Turner blasted two homeruns (3) as SF (28-6-1, 11-3 MFC) cruised past the Vikings 9-0. The Saints have now won six in a row and 11 of their last 12.

O'Shea (7-2) was perfect through his first 5.1 innings and allowed just two base runners in seven innings. Turner gave him all the run support he would need with a three run homerun in the second inning.

Drew Doty tacked on two more with a two run homerun (6) in the third inning and Turner crushed his second homer of the game in the fourth to make the lead 7-0.

Santa Fe added one in the fifth inning when Doty scored on a passed ball with two outs.

Jay Laurienzo capped the scoring with a blast to left field, his team leading eighth homerun of the season.

Turner finished the game 2-for-4 with two homeruns and five RBI, Doty was 2-for-5 with a homerun and two RBI, Cory Elasik was 3-for-4 and TJ Spina was 2-for-4.

The Saints host Seminole State College on Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 PM and will look to expand on their 2.5 game lead in the Mid-Florida Conference.
