SAINTS HANDLE EDWARD WATERS, 19-0 AND 10-0
Gainesville, FL – The NJCAA #10 Santa Fe Saints cruised past Edward Waters College on Thursday afternoon, surrendering just one hit while piling up 25. The Tigers committed 10 errors in the two games.
Colena Lazar (4-3) and Stephanie Cameron combined on a five inning no hitter in game one. They struck out 12 of the possible 15 outs. The only base runner for the Tigers was the result of a hit by pitch in the fourth inning.
Jasmine Warren (3-1) and Erika Garcia pitched the second game and held EWC to one hit. They combined for eight strikeouts and just one base runner, a fourth inning hit.
Ashley Holton (3) hit a home run in each game and finished 3-for-5 with three RBI. Alaysia Miller (2) was 2-for-2 with a homerun and three walks, Colesa Lazar finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, Ashley Curry was 3-for-4 with a double and Santa Fe High School graduate Lindsey Fisher was 2-for-2 on the afternoon. Gia Tomossone (1) blasted a grand slam homerun in game two for her first of the season and thirteenth of her career, moving her into a tie for fourth place all time at SF with Jessica Paez (2006-07).
