A Message from the President

Santa Fe Family:

Our college community has been served well by Daryl Johnston's admirable performance over the years in a dual role as police chief and IPS director. As the Institute continues to grow in programs, enrollment and scope, it needs the full benefit of Daryl's great experience as an educator and in law enforcement. To that end, Daryl Johnston has agreed to serve in a full-time capacity as Director of our Kirkpatrick Institute of Public Safety after we complete a search for a new Santa Fe College Police Department Chief. Daryl will continue to serve in his dual role until a new chief of police is hired.

We will conduct a nationwide search for police chief. Santa Fe has had a tradition of fine law enforcement since our college became one of the first in Florida to create its own department of sworn officers. That tradition will continue with a new chief in an environment of growing challenges for this essential service.
