SANTA FE AND TALLAHASSEE SPLIT DOUBLE HEADER

Gainesville, FL – Colena Lazar (1-3) was back in All-American form on Tuesday afternoon, striking out 16 Tallahassee CC batters in game one of a double header, leading the Saints to a 2-0 victory. Lazar struck out the first seven batters she faced and the last six to close out the game.

The Eagles were able to scratch two runs across in game two and it was SF shutout as TCC evened things up on the day with a 2-0 win.

Erika Garcia scored both game one runs for Santa Fe (4-4), the first on an RBI single by Ashley Holton in the second inning and the second on a pass ball in the fourth.

Jasmine Warren (2-1) started in the circle game two and surrendered two runs on three hits, the biggest coming on a solo homerun in the sixth inning to make the score 2-0. Erika Garcia pitched two perfect innings in relief following the homerun.

The Saints struggled to get much going offensively, mustering just four hits against TCC pitcher Sara Scott.

Santa Fe continues their home stand on Thursday when St. Pete College visits for a double header scheduled to start at 2:00 PM.
