LAURIENZO NAMED FCCAA STATE BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
FCCAA Baseball Player of the Week (Jan. 30 – Feb. 6) Jay Laurienzo, Santa Fe Sophomore – OF – Tampa, Fla.
Santa Fe College's Jay Laurienzo is this week's FCCAA Baseball Player of the Week. Laurienzo, a sophomore outfielder from Tampa, Fla., batted .500 (12-for-24) with three home runs and nine RBI during his first seven games of the season. He hit safely in six of the seven games, including the last five and had four multi-hit outings.
Laurienzo had back-to-back three-hit games against Polk State (February 2) and Pasco-Hernando (February 4), hitting a home run and driving in three runs against the former. He closed the week with home runs in both games of a doubleheader against South Florida on February 5. For the week, Laurienzo scored six runs and also had two doubles.
