CONEY AND THE SAINTS STAY HOT WITH WIN OVER CCF, 68-62
Ocala, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (13-10, 5-1 MFC) increased their Mid-Florida Conference lead on Monday night when they defeated rivals College of Central Florida on the road 68-62 to win their fifth straight game. The victory gives SF a one game lead over Daytona State, a team they have defeated twice this season.
The Saints led 31-29 at the half and controlled the action for most of the second half, fending off a couple runs by the Patriots to hold on for the win.
Point guard Stephenie Coney led the offense with 18 points and Kindsay Brandt provided a spark with 14 points including four three pointers. Leandra King had another solid game, scoring 14 to go with five rebounds and two blocks and Demisha Mills finished with nine points.
Santa Fe returns to action on Wednesday at home against Florida State College at Jacksonville at 6:00pm. The men follow at 8:00pm against the Stars. For the fans that cannot attend, the game can be watched live on www.psblive.com.
