INDIAN RIVER HANDS SAINTS FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON IN OVERTIME, 69-63
Ft. Pierce, FL – Indian River State College avenged a November 6th overtime loss to the Santa Fe Saints (8-1) on Saturday evening by handing SF an overtime loss of their own, 69-63. The Pioneers scored with 2.5 seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 63-63 and then held the Saints scoreless during the extra period to earn the win.
The Saints lead 32-25 at the half and by double digits with seven minutes to go. IRSC chipped away, cutting it to two with just seconds to go, setting up the late game heroics.
SF made only 5-of-16 free throws and the Pioneers converted on 13-of-18.
Anthony Nwadigo led the Santa Fe offense, scoring 13 and Branimir Mikulic also scored in double figures with 10.
The Saints will look to get back to their winning ways when State College of Florida-Manatee comes to town on Wednesday, December 1 for a game at 7:00pm. SF defeated the Manatees 93-88 on November 9 in Bradenton.
