Geography Awareness Week 2010
November 16, 2010
The Geography Faculty at Santa Fe College would like to wish everyone a Happy Geography Awareness Week!
Each day of the week in the foyer of the Library (Y Building) there will be a Geography Quiz. The individual who gets the most correct questions each day will win an atlas. Get the competitive bug and see how your knowledge matches up against other students. Answers will be posted next week. There is also a display of Geography opportunities at Santa Fe College!
Two Study Abroad opportunities that include studies in Geography will be highlighted; you can enjoy Costa Rica during Spring Break and receive 1 credit in Groups Studies in Geography along with 1 credit of Ecology Lab in Costa Rica; during Summer A the 10 day Study Abroad to Ghana, West Africa includes 3 credits of Cultural Geography and 3 of Sociology.
Let’s take this week to also honor SF’s excellent Geography teachers:
- Neal Devine, PhD, Rutgers University
- Kim Feigenbaun, MA, University of Florida
- Kevin Fox, PhD, pending, University of North Carolina
- Stephanie Thorne, MA, Marshall University
- Heidi Lannon, PhD, University of Florida
