SF Digital Media Students Sweep Florida Print Awards

October 1, 2010

At the 23rd Annual Florida Print Awards, Santa Fe College asserted its dominance in digital media, winning a grand total of 37 awards from the conference sponsored by the Printing Association of Florida. Under the faculty sponsorship of Bonita Dewiliby, Tom Idoyaga, and Shawna Mansfield, 11 digital media students represented the college, turning in entries with subject matter ranging from a College Manor Apartment Guide to a poster for Niceville, Florida's Mullet Festival.

This year's award count of 37 dwarfed last year's haul, which totaled only nine awards. Six prestigious Best of Category awards, nine Awards of Excellence, and 22 Judge's Awards, which serve as honorable mentions, were presented to the students at the Florida Print Awards Banquet on Aug. 8. The nine competitors included a mix of high schools and colleges from around the state, and Santa Fe came in only second in the total number of awards won.
