SF FASTPITCH

SAINTS WIN FOUR ON SATURDAY

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints continued their winning ways on Saturday, September 25 when they collected four wins over Jacksonville Storm – Shepherd and the Jacksonville Players.

The Saints combined for 27 runs on 30 hits, including five doubles, a triple, a homerun by sophomore third baseman Gia Tomossone and a grand slam for freshman Mayo, FL native Lindsey Hamlin.

The SF pitching staff surrendered eight runs, with only two earned. Coach Chris Ahern was pleased with the effort she saw from her team, “We had a lot of good things happen throughout the day, including some quality hitting, players picking each other up and making adjustments, and good outings by the pitchers,” said Coach Ahern. “Using different combinations on defense and in the batting order, we are working to continue to improve in various situations on both sides of the ball. The team understands that working together will get us better.”

The Saints return to action on the road next week in Jacksonville, where they will play the University of North Florida in a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
