Jump, Jitter and Dance the Night Away June 26

June 23, 2010

If your feet are itching to cut the rug, dust off your dance shoes, the 2nd Annual Larry G. Shahboz Memorial Summer Swing Dance is around the corner.

Spend Saturday, June 26, at the Historic Thelma Boltin Center, 516 NE 2nd Ave., swinging your partner while benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The dance floor opens at 8 p.m. and couples will be spinning until 11 p.m. There will be demonstrations, door prizes and more.

Feel like you may have forgotten a few moves? No problem hep cat, there are free lessons at 8:30 p.m. to help you put the bounce back into your Lindy Hop. And, if you cannot find those shoes, you can always hang out, watch the action, help a good cause and maybe walk away with one of the prizes.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for students. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.hotrodlarry.com. You may want to move fast; last year's event nearly sold out and almost $3,000 went to the cause.

For more information, contact Marc Shahboz at 352-395-5347 or marc@shahboz.com.
