Operation Carepak on Track to Send Items to Florida's Soldiers
May 5, 2010
The packing party for Operation Carepak's first shipment is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 5 in D-115 at the Northwest campus.
“We're very, very excited,” said Jennifer Mullis, steering committee chair. “We have a lot of great people who've volunteered their time to help, including people in the community.”
Update on items, collections, donations, etc.
Below is an update with some of the highlights. (There's a lot more information in this
- Items must be small enough to fit in soldiers' packs. Look in the PDF linked above for an updated “hot items” list.
- A $100 donation will pay for the shipping of eight carepaks; OR, 200 pairs of white cotton socks, 200 units of medicated Gold Bond baby powder, 140 individual serving boxes of Special K cereal, or 108 individual servings of macaroni and cheese. Checks in any amount (no donation is too small!) should be sent to Debi McElroy in F-256. Make them out to SFC- FACC Chapter/Operation Carepak.
- The soldiers really want soft toilet paper.
- Items are picked up for storage every Thursday afternoon, so if you have collection boxes in your office and you want to have them emptied, Thursday is the day. If you need a collection box, email Anne Marie Mattison or call 381-3828.
