Santa Fe Receives Funding for Developmental Education Initiative

April 29, 2010

Carole Windsor named project director

Santa Fe College was one of five colleges in Florida selected to receive a Developmental Education Initiative (DEI) Redesign Project Sub-Grant. This project was co-funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Lumina Foundation, through the Florida Department of Education.

The purpose of the funding is to support the design and piloting of a new model for developmental education course delivery. Santa Fe will receive $30,000 over the next three years to fund this project. This project supports a modularized course format that will provide students with shorter, more tailored remedial programs, enabling them to save time and money by only enrolling in the modules that address their individual deficiencies. Carole Windsor is the Project Director.

Congratulations!
