RAGANS PITCHES SAINTS PAST FSC-J, 5-2

Jacksonville, FL – Steven Ragans pitched his best game of the season on Wednesday afternoon against Florida State College-Jacksonville, striking out 10 Star batter while surrendering only two runs on two hits through seven innings.  BOX SCORE

The Saints (23-13, 14-6 MFC) opened the scoring in the second with three runs.  Brett Bozeman doubled and Ricky Claudio tripled to score the first run.  Jardian Thomas and Austin Lawrence both followed with RBI singles to make the score 3-0.

In the fourth inning SF added two more runs on a two RBI single by TJ Spina, scoring Nolan Malone and Joe Clouse.

FSC-J got on the board in the sixth on an RBI single and a run on a pass ball.

Daryl Barnes entered the game with a 5-2 lead in the eighth inning and pitched two perfect innings for his sixth save of the season.  The Saints have now won 12 of their last 13 Mid-Florida Conference games and currently sit in first place, three games ahead with four to play.

Brett Bozeman finished 2-for-4 with a double, Ricky Claudio was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI and Nolan Malone was 2-for-4 with a double.

Santa Fe's next game is on Saturday at home against Seminole State College at 1:00pm.
