FOUR SAINTS NAMED ALL MID-FLORIDA CONFERENCE

Gainesville, FL – Four members of the 2009-2010 Santa Fe Saints men’s basketball team were honored last week as All Mid-Florida conference selections for their success on the court during the season.

Marlon Rivera and Chris Baez were both named to the first team and Branimir Mikulic and Chad Renfro were second team selections.

Marlon Rivera, a two year starter at point guard for the Saints, averaged 7.5 points and a team high 5.3 assists per game.  He also averaged nearly two steals per game and 3.1 rebounds per contest.

Chris Baez, a sophomore transfer from the University of Central Florida, led SF in scoring at 14.1 ppg and pulled down 3.7 rebounds per game.  He led the Saints in three pointers made with 62.

Freshman Chad Renfro scored nine points per game, had 3.1 rebounds per game and made 45 three pointers while shooting 70% from the free throw line.

Branimir Mikulic, a freshman from Siroki Brijeg, Herzegovina averaged 6.8 points per game, but stepped up in conference play, scoring 9.2 ppg over the final ten games of the year, good for second on the team behind Baez.  Mikulic was second on the team in rebounding with 4.8 rpg and third in three pointers made with 35.
