SANTA FE GETS OVERTIME WIN OVER MIDDLE GEORGIA, 80-74
Americus, GA – The Santa Fe Saints (10-5) traveled to Americus on Saturday night and defeated Middle Georgia College, a team receiving votes in the NJCAA poll, in a back and forth overtime battle.
In a game that saw 15 lead changes and eight ties, the Saints took the lead into the halftime break, 30-29.
The teams were tied after regulation and the Saints were able to pull away in overtime for the six point victory
Lanita Bartley recorded a triple double to help lead SF to the win. She finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and seven steals.
Tracie Sneed finished the game with 18 points and four rebounds, Hannah Jones had 12 points and five rebounds, India Johnson had nine points and four assists and Letiecia Davenport scored nine points to go with 11 rebounds.
“This was a great team win,” said Coach Chanda Stebbins. “I’m very proud of how Hannah played tonight. She has been working hard and executed all of the things we have been working on at practice.”
The Saints will play again tomorrow in Americus, GA against South Georgia Tech at 6:00pm
