SAINTS DEFEAT SOUTH GEORGIA TECH TO WIN SECOND IN A ROW, 78-65

Americus, GA – In their last game before opening up the Mid-Florida Conference season, the Santa Fe Saints (11-5) controlled things from start to finish in a win over South Georgia Tech on Sunday night.

The Saints led from start to finish and took a 46-28 lead into the half. SF built their biggest lead of the game with a 6-0 run to start the second half, going up 52-28 behind the scoring of Lanita Bartley and Tracie Sneed.

South Georgia Tech closed the lead late in the second half, but Santa Fe held their double digit margin and won their eleventh game of the year, 78-65

Bartley finished the game with a double double (17 points, 10 rebounds), one night after recording a triple double against Middle Georgia College. Sneed also scored 17 points and chipped in three rebounds.

“I was very happy with our execution in tonight’s game,” said Coach Chanda Stebbins. “Letiecia [Davenport] played really well in the first half to help give us a lead and Lanita and Tracie had good all around games. We were able to get everyone on the floor and everyone did a great job with their opportunities.”

The Saints open their MFC season on Wednesday, January 6 on the road in Ocala against rival Central Florida CC at 7:00pm.
