New SF Registration Policy Regarding Proof of Residency
December 7, 2009
In an effort to remove barriers from students trying to admit to Santa Fe College and register for classes, the college has made a change in residency status processing.
All students with residency flags will be eligible to register for classes on their appointment date.
They will be charged out-of-state tuition until the college has received official proof of Florida residency.
Proof of Florida residency must be received no later than the first day of the term.
State law requires that residency documentation must be received no later than the first day of the term so it is imperative that students submit proof of Florida residency by that date. Otherwise, those students who have registered with the residency flag will be assessed out-of-state fees for the duration of the term and would need to reclassify for subsequent terms.
Residency flag students are being sent a notification informing them of their status and eligibility to register for classes. They will also have a bold message on their "View Schedule‚" in eSantaFe, informing them of their non-resident fees with a link to the residency affidavit.
Those affidavits can be mailed in or faxed to the Office of Admissions. Once received and proof of residency is determined, residency status will be changed to in-state and fees will be reset to in-state tuition (if they have already registered).
Students can also track their status on the "My info/status‚" in eSantaFe.
