SAINTS DEFEAT DARTON BEHIND SNEED'S SEVEN THREE POINTERS, 73-67

Albany, GA – The NJCAA #17 Santa Fe Saints (6-1) trailed for nearly the entire game on Tuesday night, but went on a 10-0 run with 2:30 left to pull out the win on the road against Darton College in Albany, GA.

"This was a good win for our team," said Coach Chanda Stebbins. "We got behind early and really stayed focused. Tracie did a great job shooting the ball and we rebounded a lot better as a team. I'm proud of the effort and composure we showed."

The Saints trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, but Tracie Sneed kept SFC in the game with her outside shooting and they were able to close the gap to four at halftime, 45-41.

Darton held onto a close lead for most of the second half, but the Saints were able to turn the tables and take their first lead of the game at 68-67 with 2:30 to go. Leandra King came up with two big blocked shots in the final two minutes and also forced two jump balls to help secure the win.

Tracie Sneed had her first double double of the season with 27 points and 10 rebounds to go with four assists and three steals. In her first collegiate start, Leandra King tallied a double double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, Letiecia Davenport had 10 points and Lanita Bartley had eight points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

The Saints return to Gainesville for their next game, again against Darton College on Tuesday, December 1 at 6pm.
