Jewelry Professor Pat Telesco Holding Open Houses

November 9, 2009

Those interested in learning more about the jewelry classes at Santa Fe are invited to two studio open houses where you can see Jewelry Casting, ART 2151C, in action. The open houses are on class nights so visitors will see the process and actual student projects.

"This is a regular 3-credit class in the Art Department, as opposed to Continuing Ed, and I get a lot of non-art majors who are looking for an interesting elective course," explained Pat Telesco.

Students will be making wax models of jewelry they've designed, casting them into silver and finishing projects already made. Visitors will be able to see students at work and talk to them (and the instructor) about the process, see the tools and equipment, and find out how much (little!) it costs to make their own, unique jewelry.

The open houses are scheduled for 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, and Wednesday, Dec. 2, both nights in M-165.
