SAINTS WIN ALL FOUR GAMES ON SATURDAY
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints stayed undefeated in "Fall Ball" on Saturday by defeating two travel teams, Team Jax and Jacksonville Streamline Gold.
The Saints won the four games by a combined 14-2, allowing only two runs in 23 innings of play.
SFC pitching was again stellar, with Colena Lazar leading the way with 22 strikeouts in 12 innings of work. Jasmine Warren had eight strikeouts in seven innings of play and Allie Short threw scoreless four innings for the Saints.
The Saints belted out 26 hits and the day and were led by the two doubles and a homerun by Gia Tomossone, who hit .400 on the day with three RBI, and a double each by Ashley Peterson and Alexis Sowell. Ashley Curry was .667 on the day while "JoJo" Peterson went .571 with two RBI, Venica Brown hit .500, Jaimee Vega .444 and Colena Lazar, Jasmine Warren and Britany Doty each went .333 at the plate.
The Saints take to the field again next Sunday, October 11, in Jacksonville against the University of North Florida. The double header is scheduled to start at 1:00pm.
