What We Did for Summer
July 10, 2009
Music faculty Scott Smolenski had the privilege of having one of his vocal compositions, "Agnus Dei" ("Lamb of God"), performed by fellow church muscians and well-known pastoral composers in a composer's session at the National Pastoral Musicians Association Convention in Chicago, Ill., onTuesday.
"My composition, one of approximately 19 others, was sang beautifully by the choir," Scott writes.
"Afterwards, the panel of exteemed composers had some nice things, as well as some helpful comments, to say about my composition. Overall, it was a very beautiful experience. I look forward to composing more music for the Catholic liturgy, as well as for other genres!"
