Garcia Inks With Floridia A&M University

Gainesville, FL – Erika Garcia, the starting shortstop the last two seasons for Coach Chris Ahern and the Santa Fe Saints fastpitch team, has signed a letter of intent to play with Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.

The FAMU Rattlers are led by Head Coach Veronica Wiggins, who is in her 18th year at the helm.

In 2009, Florida A&M finished with a 30-32 record and won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament, advancing to the NCAA Regionals in Gainesville where they were defeated by #1 University of Florida and Lehigh University.

In her two years with SFC, Garcia was named All-Mid-Florida Conference twice and was a part of the 2008 State Champion and National Runner-up team.

Garcia has a familiarity with Tallahassee, having attended school at Godby High School after moving to the United States from Mexico City, Mexico.
