Laptop Loan Program
The limited quantity of SF Loaner Laptops have all been distributed for Fall 2024. G term students may be eligible for a laptop when G term begins on September 16. Please call first to determine availability: 352-395-5409.
FALL 2024 SF LOANER LAPTOPS ARE DUE the end of finals week (Saturday, December 14). Laptops and chargers must be brought inside and returned to an appropriate staff member during operating hours.
Overview
Students who need a laptop for college coursework can borrow one through the SF's laptop loan program.
- No application is necessary. Students will complete a print agreement form provided at time of laptop loan.
- Laptops are available to students currently enrolled in for-credit college courses at SF.
- Laptops are available to check out at the Tyree Library on the Northwest Campus during Library operating hours.
- Laptops are also available at SF Center locations during Center business hours.
- Students must show an approved form of ID at time of checkout, preferably an SFID. See Circulation Services for other options.
- Laptops are checked out per semester and due at the end of the semester. Due dates are provided on the agreement form.
- Failure to return a SF Loaner Laptop by the stated deadline will result in a $568.00 replacement charge and hold on the student account until the laptop is returned. This hold blocks a student from graduating, registering for a subsequent semester, and accessing transcripts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Santa Fe College students enrolled in credit-bearing courses are eligible to borrow a SF Loaner Laptop. Students must be enrolled in credit-bearing courses during the current semester including short-term courses such as A, B, or G term.
A certain number of laptops are available at SF Centers each semester to borrow. Please check with Center administrative staff about availability or, send an email request to library@sfcollege.edu
The SF Loaner Laptop Program is funded through the Office of Student Affairs and has a limited number of laptops. Laptops are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the start of each semester.
SF Loaner Laptops are borrowed one semester at a time and must be returned at the end of each semester. Students can visit the library, or their SF Center, for another laptop at the start of the next semester. Laptops cannot be renewed.
Upon return, staff delete all personal information including accounts, files, passwords, etc. from the laptop.
For technical assistance with SF Loaner Laptops, please visit the Information Technology Services (ITS) Service Desk during college business hours on the Northwest Campus in K-036. College business hours are Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm If unable to visit the Northwest Campus, please call the library to facilitate assistance.
Students using SF Loaner Laptops must abide by the college Student Computer Use and Appropriate Use Policies which prohibit downloading and installing programs on any SF-owned equipment. See Student Use Policy
