New F-1 Students
Application Requirements
We recommend that you use your name exactly as it appears in your passport when completing all of the steps below (online application, TOEFL).

Admission to Santa Fe College requires that applicants demonstrate proof of completion of a level of education that is equal to or higher than a U.S. high school diploma.
To complete this step, send Official high school transcripts to a NACES-accredited credential evaluation companyfor verification, translation and evaluation. Request to have evaluation reports mailed directly to International Student Services, Santa Fe College.
Students requesting an evaluation of secondary or high school transcripts/diploma need to order a Document by Document (General) evaluation. Students with post-secondary (College or University) transcripts must request a Course by Course evaluation.
International students can provide proof of English language proficiency by one of the following means:
- Submit an official score of at least 32 on the Internet-based test (IBT), 95 on Computer based (CBT), or 320 on the Paper-based (PBT) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of at least 4.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of at least 38 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of at least 160 (B2 First) on the Cambridge English Language Assessment (CELA) that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of at least Level 4 on the Oxford English Language Level Test (ELLT) that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of 65 or higher on the Duolingo Academic Test that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of at least 24 on the Reading section AND 25 on the Writing section of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) that is less than two years old; or
- Submit an official score of at least 19 on the Reading section AND 17 on the Writing section of the ACT test that is less than two years old; or
- Earn a “C” or higher in the equivalent of English Composition 1 (ENC 1101) at a regionally accredited college or university; or
- Earn a standard diploma from a valid United States high school; or
- Earn an International Baccalaureate “IB” Diploma; or
- Earn a diploma from a high school with valid CIS (Council of International Schools) accreditation; or
- Submit proof of citizenship from an English-speaking country; or
- Submit official documents showing completion of level 40 or higher in all sections from the University of Florida’s English Language
Note: Santa Fe College reserves the right to mandate TOEFL test scores of any student applicant
- Complete the F-1 Student Proof of Funds Form
- Include your financial documentation – Bank Document or Scholarship Letter with the Proof of Funds Form
- All documents must be originals, less than 6 months old, and currency must be United States Dollars (USD)
- If your sponsor is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, also complete form I-134
- These documents should be sent directly to International Student Services, Santa Fe College
- If you are transferring from another U.S. College or University, please contact an International Student Services advisor to obtain the SEVIS Transfer-In Form.
- If you have previous college or university credits from a non-U.S. institution, you must send your official transcripts to a NACES-accredited credential evaluation company for a course-by-course evaluation.
- If your spouse and/or children require F-2 visas, you will need to complete additional paperwork.
- If you are applying for a Change of Status, you must submit copies of your current visa, form I-797, and other documentation as requested.
- If you are already inside the United States, please send copies of your I-94 Record, all previously issued I-20 forms, and F-1 student visa. These documents can be sent to International Student Services via email.
