Tatiana Velasco Bruno - International Admissions Specialist
Tatiana comes from Bolivia in South America. She arrived in Gainesville 12 years ago with her husband and 4 four daughters.
Tatiana started working at Santa Fe College to encourage students from all over the world to come to take advantage of the amazing educational opportunities found at Santa Fe College. She thinks that regardless of a student’s career goals, Santa Fe College is the best place to start an academic journey.
Tatiana speaks Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Italian. She loves to explain and guide the students through the admissions process.
Karen Elliott - International Admissions Specialist
Karen was born and raised in Venezuela. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from her country. Prior to coming to Santa Fe, she was a student at the English Language Institute at the University of Florida. She joined the Santa Fe College family with the dream of helping international students to achieve their academic goals.
Karen enjoys meeting people from different countries and cultures. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors enjoying nature, traveling, and practicing yoga.
Leah Powers - International Admissions Specialist
Leah was born and raised in Kentucky. After completing undergraduate degrees in English and Spanish, she served for a period of time as a teacher of English Language and Culture at CEIP Ernest Hemingway Bilngual School in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. Upon returning to the United States, Leah complete her master's studies in Comparative and International Education at New York University.
Leah is currently a doctoral candidate in the Teacher's Schools, and Society program and an instructor of Education Sciences at the University of Florida. She is passionate about supporting international students as they navigate the legal, cultural, and social challenges of pursuing education in a foreign country. In her free time Leah enjoys traveling anywhere and everywhere, conversations over good food with friends and family, walking with her rescue dog in the park, and serving in her community.
