Spectrum of Success

Overview

Spectrum of Success (SOS) is designed to help integrate students on the autism spectrum into the Santa Fe College community as a whole. SOS allows its students to interact and counsel each other through difficulties many other students and faculty at the college may not be able to understand. SOS helps students develop the skills they need to enter the workforce following graduation. SOS also works to remove the stigma that unfortunately often follows students on the spectrum by showing the community that they are in every way capable of achieving in the academic and social environment of SF.

SOS students are intelligent, creative and detail-oriented problem solvers that add to the diversity of Santa Fe College.

Testimonials

A.S. (student)
I feel the Spectrum of Success program can give many opportunities for autistic students. Pamela Childers has shown to be a strong advocate for those in the program and is passionate about helping any autistic student. The Spectrum of Success provides social opportunities with other autistic and non-autistic students through a student-led club. I have full faith in the Spectrum of Success program and the possibilities it can create for students with autism.

K.W. (student)
I like the program because I'm around people who are like me. It also provides the opportunity to work on showing people that they and their families not alone.

C.P. (parent)
The SOS Program has provided me with the contact I need to help my adult son with ASD navigate through his college experience. The program is currently helping my son prepare for the workplace with resume and interview help. As well as communicating with employers who are willing to embrace workers on the spectrum. Thank you Santa Fe College for embracing your ASD students and recognizing that they have a lot to offer the world.
