October 12, 2016

cancer ribbonOn Thursday, October 13 the Santa Fe College volleyball team will celebrate their Dig Pink night with a $1000 donation to The Hope Lodge of Gainesville. For the past two months the players, family and staff have been gathering donations for the Hope Lodge which houses cancer patients and their families when they come to Gainesville to receive treatment. Not only were the players and their families involved, but several area businesses donated gifts to be given away at the event.

"When the idea was brought to me in July, I thought what a great way to involve the entire community with our program," said SF Coach Nick Cheronis. "It has been a great success due to our player's efforts and the Gainesville community. Wins and losses come and go, but giving to the community can last forever. I am extremely grateful to everyone involved in the effort."
Santa Fe plays Lake-Sumter Thursday night in a Mid-Florida Conference battle. Match time is at 7:00 PM.
