Renewal of Scholarships

Is my scholarship renewable?

Some scholarships are renewable for a second year, some are only one year, and some are only one term. This information can be found when you explore scholarship criteria

For the renewable scholarship, you must meet the scholarship's minimum criteria listed for the second year. If the minimum criteria is not met, you may be placed on warning to raise your GPA and/or complete hours during the summer term.

What if I either fail, withdraw or attend only one semester in an academic year?

Students are expected to complete the credit hours funded by the Santa Fe College Foundation. Example, if a student is funded 24 credit hours for the academic year but only completes 18 credit hours, the student is expected to make up those hours in the summer.  Student will be placed on warning and after summer term will be re-evaluated.

Scholarship recipients must enroll per the required scholarship criteria in the next term following the scholarship award and continue to be enrolled in consecutive terms (Fall/Spring).

Students will be monitored for a cumulative minimum required GPA and completed credit/hours at the end of every term. Satisfactory academic progress is required for the award to remain intact for the next term. Students who do not successfully complete funded term, may be eligible for warning; students will be notified via email at the end of the term. Students who complete zero credits/hours will be denied further Santa Fe College Foundation scholarship funding.

Is it possible to lose my scholarship?

Yes; if determined that you no longer meet the specific criteria for the scholarship, your scholarship could be cancelled.  Below are some examples that could affect a student's eligibility:

  • Degree change
  • GPA falling below the minimum criteria of the scholarship
  • Less than full-time status (12 credit hours) if the scholarship requires a student to be full time
  • Graduated with degree and no longer meets the criteria
