Overview
As a non-profit zoo we depend on your support. Your contribution towards our Adopt-An-Animal program provides for the care and feeding of the animals, as well as providing important funding for habitat enrichment programs and exhibit improvements.
How can I adopt an animal?
Make an annual contribution to the SF Teaching Zoo's Adopt-An-Animal program by selecting an animal from the animal list and choosing the level (see below) that is right for you. Donate online, or download the Adopt-An-Animal form and mail it in or bring it to the zoo office. This program benefits all of the animals at the SF Teaching Zoo. You can continue to support your favorite animal every year, or add to your "family" photo album by choosing different animals.
Levels*
- $25 (4 x 6 photo)
- $50 (5 x 7 photo + 1 free tickets to the zoo)
- $100 (8 x 10 photo + 2 free tickets to the zoo)
- $250 (8 x 10 photo + 8 free tickets to the zoo)
*All levels include a certificate, color photo of your animal, fact sheet about your animal and name on our online parent board.

For more information on Adopt-An-Animal you can contact Christina Arnold at 352-395-5603 or by email at christina.arnold@sfcollege.edu
Please understand that it could take up to 30 days for the adoption packet to be sent to the adoptive family.
What if my animal moves away?
As the zoo grows, new animals arrive and some leave for various reasons. In such cases, your sponsorship will be applied to the general animal collection for the remainder of the year. Because of their popularity some animals may be adopted by more than one person. When you adopt an animal you become a friend to the entire species, not just one individual.
When can I visit my animal?
The SF Teaching Zoo is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with last entry at 2:30 p.m. for self-guided tours and no appointments are necessary. Come and stroll the 10-acre wooded forest with sawdust trails. Bring your children or grandchildren to play at the playground located in the middle of the zoo. Enjoy nature at its best. The zoo is stroller and wheelchair accessible.
