If you are a currently registered student at Santa Fe College, you can take advantage of the many free and low cost services available through the SHCC (Student Health Care Center). The SHCC also has information on local health care providers to which you can be referred for complex problems.
Services
You do not need an appointment for most of the services provided by the center. Services are available only to SF students. Many services are free. There are charges for immunizations and laboratory tests, and some services.
The SHCC is currently staffed by a full-time Registered Nurse and Program Assistant.
Services include:
- Blood pressure checks
- First aid
- Prepare physical exam and refer patients for low cost program physical
- Prescriptions for contraceptives
- Treatment and/or referral for many common maladies (e.g. strep throat, UTI, asthma, pinkeye)
- Referral to local health care providers for advanced care and services
- Referral to area specialists for advanced health care
Immunizations
Cost of immunizations range from $25 - $325
Immunizations are offered any time the Student Health Care Center is open. The nurse offers counseling on required and medically recommended immunizations, laboratory blood titers to document immunity, and required immunization forms for students transferring to a university. There is a cost for immunizations, and appointments are preferred.

- Hepatitis B (series of 3) $75 each
- MMR - measles, mumps, rubella (series of 2) $95 each
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis - T-dap $75
- Varicella - chickenpox (series of 2) $160 each
- Meningitis $200
- Gardasil - HPV $200
- Flu Shots - when in season $25
- Rabies - pre-exposure (series of 3) $325 each
- PPD - Tuberculosis Skin Test $25

Medical History Form
A medical history form will be needed to be completed and signed (DocuSign accepted) by the patient prior to services. It is important for your own health that you are aware of family medical histories.
