January 20, 2024 – The Collegewide Forum for Provost Candidate Dr. Alice Murillo was one of many notable Santa Fe College happenings over the past week. Here's some SF news you might have missed:
- The Collegewide Forum for Provost Candidate Dr. Alice Murillo took place: The forum for Provost Candidate Dr. J. Nathaniel Southerland is Jan. 25.
- SF Waste Audit registration has begun: Join the Santa Fe College Sustainability Committee, Alachua County Waste Alternatives, and the Repurpose Project on Feb. 7 to create a baseline of the materials discarded at the Northwest Campus.
- The Instructors webpage was archived: If you require a copy of the page's content, email websmith@sfcollege.edu and mention your name as it appears on the Instructors page.
- Become a community scientist with the Gainesville FrogWatch USA at Santa Fe College chapter: Learn about the wetlands in your community, identify local frog and toad calls, and report data.
- Register today for online suicide prevention training: The first 2,000 people to complete the one-hour online course will receive a $25.00 Walmart gift certificate.
- The SFPD beverage tab collection drive began: Bring any can tops/tabs to the SFPD at the Northwest Campus and Blount Center locations.
- SF's Strategic Planning Survey is due Jan. 29: Help kick off development of SF's new Strategic Plan by completing the Santa Fe College Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning Survey.
- The Learning Commons will offer students two critical workshops: "Navigating Your Syllabus: A Student's Guide" and "Study Smarter, Not Harder" are open for registration.
- Faculty and staff can sign up for Mental Health First Aid Training: The program takes place on Friday, Jan. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Building S, Rooms 29/30.
