Campus Conversation Book Series: Whistling Vivaldi

February 23, 2018

February 23, 2018 – Campus Conversations is an initiative generated by the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to gather people from various disciplines across Santa Fe College for discussions, learning opportunities and the sharing of ideas.

Beginning in March, there will be three opportunities to discuss the book "Whistling Vivaldi" by social psychologist Claude M. Steele. The book "sheds light on how pervasive stereotypes can actually influence behavior and performance, and how these stereotypes, left unexamined, perpetuate themselves."

Discussion sessions will be held Tuesday, March 20, from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m.; Wednesday, March 21, from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m.; and Friday, April 6, from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

To receive a copy of Steele's book in advance of the discussion, register today for one of the three Campus Conversation sessions through CT3's Professional Development Workshops.

Steele's work can be previewed by watching Stereotype Threat: A Conversation with Claude Steele on YouTube.
