Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College freshman forward Jocelyn Mousty has signed a National Letter of Intent with Texas Tech University, where she will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Mousty averaged 9.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in 26 contests in 2013-14, helping the Saints to a FCSAA State Tournament appearance. She scored a season high 24 points against Indian River on December 6 and cracked the 20 point plateau four times and had 10 or more rebounds three times.
She joins a Texas Tech program under the direction of Head Coach Candi Whitaker. The Red Raiders struggled in 2013-14, finished 6-24 overall and 0-18 in Big 12 play.
"We are so pleased that Jocelyn has made a decision to continue playing at Texas Tech University," said SF Head Coach Chanda Stebbins. "She has made solid contributions for us this year and will be fortunate to have three years of eligibility left at Texas Tech. I am happy that she found the right fit for herself academically in their criminal justice program and know she will help Coach Whitaker rebuild the Red Raider program, we look forward to seeing her develop."
Coach Whitaker is excited to have a player of Mousty's caliber join the Red Raiders program as they continue to rebuild.
"Jocelyn is a tremendously versatile post player," Whitaker said. "She can shoot the three, take it off the bounce, and has a pro face-up game. She adds some much needed size to our program. Fortunately for Lady Raider fans, she will have three years of eligibility to play at Texas Tech."
