SF FASTPITCH

Lake Worth, FL – The Santa Fe Saints dropped game one of a double header against South Florida State, picking up just one hit and committing four errors in a 2-0 loss.  Kalsey Jefferson stepped up in game two, earning her first win of the season with a complete game two hit performance in a 5-1 SF victory.

The Saints (10-14, 1-1 MFC) pounded out 11 hits in game two, led by a 2-for-3 performance from Ashley Chapman.  Rachel Brown came up with what would prove to be the game winning hit in the fourth inning when she doubled home Alexis Camelo to give Santa Fe a 2-1 lead.  Chapman followed her up with a double of her own to plate the second run of the inning.

SF added two insurance runs in the fifth on a two run single from Alexis Camelo for the 5-1 lead, more than enough run support for Jefferson.

Amber Maxey finished 3-for-5 on the day, and Sid Masso was 2-for-7.

The Saints travel to Florida State College-Jacksonville on Thursday for a 4:00 PM double header against the Blue Wave.  The games will be broadcast live via streaming audio on www.theprepzone.com and www.floridacast.com.
