Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints entered the bottom of the seventh inning of their game against FCSAA #1 Tallahassee CC (12-2) trailing 7-3, having just given up a three run, pinch hit homerun.  Not only did SF (5-5) not give in and quit, they rallied for their best inning of the season, plating 11 runs to run away with a game they were on the brink of losing.

The Saints started the game off on the right foot, scoring a run in the first on an RBI groundout by George Ragsdale, and another in the second on a homerun by AJ Mazzurco.

TCC answered with one in the third, one in the fifth and two in the sixth to grab a 4-2 advantage.  Santa Fe came back with a run in the bottom of the sixth on a Payson Smith RBI ground out, scoring Andrew Fears who tripled with one out.

Leading 4-3, Tallahassee added to their advantage with a three run homer in the seventh.

In the bottom of the seventh, the flood gates opened for Santa Fe and the wheels fell off for TCC.  SF sent 16 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs on nine hits and three Eagle errors, two of them coming on force outs at second that were potential double plays to end the inning.

TCC tried to make things interesting in the eighth when they plated three runs, but Jeremy Graf closed the door in the ninth to preserve the 14-10 win.

Santa Fe hit .425 as a team (17-for-40) and all 14 runs came by way of RBI.  Jonathan Camp was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI, Brady Roberson finished 2-for-6 with four RBI, Payson Smith was 2-for-4 with three RBI, George Ragsdale was 3-for-4 with a RBI, and Andrew Fears was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Saints head out on the road this weekend for back to back double headers down south.  They battle Miami Dade College on Friday, February 21 at 1:00 PM and play a double dip against Broward College on Saturday, February 22 at 12:00 PM.
