Scholarship opportunity through FSASE

Pam Carpenter, Alachua County Supervisor of Elections, has announced an opportunity for local college or university students to apply for a $1,200 scholarship through the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections. FSASE will award one $1,200 scholarship this year to a Political Science major, Public or Business Administration major or Journalism/Mass Communication major who has finished two years of junior college or undergraduate work (enough credits for enrollment as a junior).

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted as full-time students in a senior college or university in Florida. Post-graduate or second-degree students not eligible. Guidelines and applications for the FSASE scholarships are available at www.votealachua.com/fsase or may be picked up at the Santa Fe College Student Services (S) Building front desk or the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office at 111 SE 1st Avenue, Gainesville.

Completed FSASE scholarship applications and two letters of recommendation must be submitted to the Supervisor of Elections of the County in which you are registered to vote. The deadline to apply is March 17.
